Used Steinway & Sons Model M Grand Piano – c1988
When customers ask what size is a Steinway Baby Grand Piano, we often say the size of the piano you select is down to the size you can fit. The Steinway & Sons Model M is officially a baby grand as it below six foot in size. However, the Steinway Model M is no ordinary baby grand and this particular instrument gives us all the reasons why.
Its sweet, singing voice is maintained throughout all registers of the piano and it has almost perfect balance of tone and dynamic range. This size piano is ideally suited to the domestic environment and from an aesthetic point of view, it is a very even piano from the side elevation.
This Steinway & Sons Model M was hand-built in the Steinway Hamburg factory in 1988. The 1980’s were good years for Steinway & Sons production and it is a truth universally acknowledged that an 80’s Steinway has a certain maturity in its tone that makes it extra special and unique. A number of our pianists come to us specifically looking for a Hamburg Steinway from this era. This is simply because of the magnificent depth of tonal quality, colour and warmth that has developed over the past 40 years to make these instruments so distinctive.
It has been very well maintained and care for throughout its life and has received only very light adjustments to the action and action components to enhance the pianist’s experience whilst playing.
