A European Tradition, Reimagined

Laul Estonia pianos represent a distinctive voice in European piano making, one that balances heritage, craftsmanship, and deeply expressive tonal character.

Handcrafted in Tallinn, each instrument reflects a commitment to traditional methods, refined through a modern understanding of performance and sound. The result is a piano that feels both grounded in history and entirely relevant to today's musicians and interiors.

A Story Rooted in Craft

The origins of Estonia pianos trace back to 1893, when piano maker Ernst Hiis established what would become the foundation of the modern factory. Over time, the brand developed a reputation for producing instruments of notable warmth and depth, heard widely across concert stages throughout Eastern Europe.

Following Estonia's independence in the 1990's, the factory entered a new chapter under the direction of concert pianist Dr. Indrek Laul. His vision was clear: to restore the artistic and musical integrity of the instruments, elevating them to a world-class standard while preserving their unique tonal identity.

Today, Laul Estonia remains one of the few piano manufacturers led by performing musicians, a detail that continues to shape every aspect of its design production.

A Distinctive Musical Character

Laul Estonia pianos are often recognised for their warmth, clarity, and singing tone, qualities that lend themselves equally to intimate settings and larger spaces.

This character is not accidental. It is the result of carefully selected materials, considered design, and a delicate approach to sound production. The factory continues to use time-honoured techniques alongside high-quality European components, ensuring consistency without compromising individuality.

Each instrument is built in relatively small numbers, allowing for a level of attention that is increasingly rare in modern piano manufacturing.
