Description
This Yamaha C3 grand piano was built in Japan in around 1979 and comes in the classic polished ebony cabinet.
At just over 6 feet in length, the C3 is one of Yamaha’s most popular conservatoire grand pianos, offering a well balanced combination of musical presence and practical size for the home, studio or teaching environment.
This is an original condition example that has been carefully preserved and maintained throughout its life, rather than being a later imported refurbishment, which is often the case with pianos of this age. The overall condition reflects long term care and sympathetic ownership.
The piano also benefits from notable provenance, having been owned by siblings Florence Pugh and Toby Sebastian, both well known figures in the film and music world. Toby’s signature on the underside of the instrument, adds a unique and personal element to the piano’s history.
Acoustically, the piano offers a pleasing balance of warmth and clarity. The tone has developed a mellow character over time, with the maturity of the soundboard contributing to a richer, more rounded sound, while still retaining the clarity and sparkle expected from a Yamaha grand.
The piano has been prepared in our workshops to ensure it performs at the optimum standard both mechanically and musically.
