Yamaha C5X SH2 Grand Piano – c2020

This Yamaha C5X SH2 grand piano dates from circa 2020 and is finished in the highly popular polished black cabinet. At 200cm in length, the C5X offers the scale and tonal depth expected from a larger grand, while remaining a practical choice for many homes, teaching studios and performance spaces.

The piano has undergone extensive preparation in our workshops. The complete action and keyboard have been serviced and regulated to Yamaha specifications, giving the piano a light, precise and responsive touch. The hammers have also been carefully refaced, restoring clarity and brightness to the tone while maintaining an even response across the keyboard.

Acoustically, the piano has been tuned and voiced to produce a rich, warm and well-balanced sound throughout the registers. There is plenty of tonal colour available to the player, with a clear, sweet treble and good definition through the middle and bass. Combined with the lighter action, this gives excellent control over dynamics and makes the piano particularly rewarding for expressive playing.

The polished black casework has also received considerable attention. All cabinet sections have been carefully burnished and polished to restore the finish as closely as possible to its original appearance.

As an SH2 model, this C5X also incorporates Yamaha’s SILENT Piano system, allowing private practice through headphones while retaining the acoustic piano for normal playing.

A very well-prepared modern Yamaha grand, this C5X SH2 combines a refined, responsive action with a versatile tonal character and the added practicality of Yamaha’s silent system. To preserve the piano’s pristine finish, a protective film has been applied to selected areas of the piano to maintain its condition until delivery.
