Yamaha C1X TA Grand Piano – c2019

This Yamaha C1X TA TransAcoustic grand piano was built in Japan in 2019 and is an immaculate example of Yamaha’s highly regarded compact CX Series grand. At 5’3″, it has the elegant proportions often associated with a baby grand, while offering the longer string length and larger soundboard area that give this model a more complete and satisfying tonal presence than many smaller grands.

This particular piano has had one owner from new and has clearly been extremely well cared for. Its condition is exceptional throughout and it could easily pass as a brand new instrument. The previous owner was so impressed with both the piano and Yamaha’s TransAcoustic system that they have now upgraded to a handcrafted Yamaha S3X TransAcoustic grand.

Acoustically, this C1X TA has a medium mellow tone with a warm, inviting character. It offers a lovely balance between compact practicality and genuine musical substance, making it especially well suited to a home where space matters but tone cannot be compromised. The sound has enough depth and colour to reward expressive playing, while remaining controlled and refined for everyday practice. It has been thoroughly checked, serviced and the TransAcoustic system calibrated by our in-house technicians.

The TransAcoustic system adds a highly practical dimension to the instrument, allowing the piano to be enjoyed acoustically, at controlled volume through the soundboard, or privately through headphones. Yamaha describes the TransAcoustic design as using the piano’s own soundboard as part of the sound-producing system, giving a more natural experience than a conventional digital speaker arrangement.
