Yamaha U1 Silent Upright Piano – c2017

This Yamaha U1 upright piano was built in Japan in 2017 and is fitted with the German ‘AdSilent’ system, combining the feel and sound of a traditional acoustic piano with the flexibility of silent headphone practice.

The U1 is one of Yamaha’s most widely respected professional upright pianos, valued for its reliability, balance and versatility in both domestic and teaching environments.

This example has been well maintained and carefully prepared in our workshops, both acoustically and cosmetically, to ensure it performs at the optimum level.

Acoustically, the piano offers a rich and powerful tone with a slightly mellower character than many refurbished older U1 models. The sound remains clear and balanced across the registers, while the touch is responsive and enjoyable to play.

The Adsilent system allows the piano to be played silently through headphones, while also offering a range of digital voices in a similar manner to a digital piano, effectively giving the player two instruments in one.

Additional features include a soft close fall system, a lid prop for increased sound projection and the centre practice pedal for quieter playing when required.
