Steinway & Sons Model O Grand Piano – c2009

This Steinway & Sons Model O grand piano was handcrafted in Hamburg, Germany, in 2009 and comes in the highly desirable, polished black cabinet. Having been cherished by just one domestic owner since new, this is a particularly fine example of one of Steinway’s most popular grand piano models, offering a mellow, sonorous tone and the musical refinement for which the marque is renowned.

At 180cm in length, the Model O is beautifully proportioned and widely regarded as one of the most versatile sizes in the Steinway range. Its elegant, well-balanced proportions make it an attractive addition to both traditional and contemporary interiors, while offering the tonal depth and musical capabilities expected of a fine German-built grand piano.

This particular instrument is in immaculate condition throughout, reflecting the care it has received throughout its life. It has also benefited from expert preparation by the acclaimed Steinway technician John Ross, who headed the Steinway workshops at Park Royal in London for 38 years before their closure. His extensive experience and intimate knowledge of Steinway instruments have contributed to the exceptionally high standard of preparation.

Acoustically, the piano has a lovely mellow and sonorous character, with a rich, rounded quality that makes it particularly rewarding to play. Its warm tonal personality encourages expressive interpretation, offering the pianist the opportunity to explore subtle musical contrasts and a broad range of dynamics. To preserve the piano’s pristine finish, a protective film has been applied to selected areas of the piano to maintain its condition until delivery.
